NUR 218 - Nursing Synthesis Credits: 2 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 0 Clinical Hours: 5
The nursing program is capped by this preceptorship course which focuses on the transition of the student nurse to the role of the professional nurse. The content emphasizes the synthesis of the knowledge, skills, attitudes and competencies as defined by the National League of Nursing. Students precept with professional nurses in a variety of settings for two clinical eight-hour days for five weeks. A grade of C or better in NUR 218 is required to complete the nursing sequence. The course may be attempted two times provided the student scores a 3 or better on the re-entry rubric, is granted re-entry by the Appeals Committee, and has not used the appeals process for any other nursing course. Notes: NUR 218 has 5 clinical hours per week in addition to the 1 lecture. Prerequisite(s): C grade or better in NUR 216
