HVA 103 - Ventilation and Air Distribution

In this course, students will study air distribution systems, and design of residential and light commercial low pressure duct systems. Students will gain an understanding of ventilation requirements and building codes for both residential and commercial applications. The course will also include: psychrometrics; air handling systems and their components, selection criteria, and classification; duct system design, including pressure loss calculation; fan classification and selection; and relevant laws. The course will include Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems that enable energy-efficient HVAC system distribution by optimizing the amount and temperature of distributed air.
