HIS 228 - African American History I Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course examines the social, political, economic and cultural history of people of African descent in the United States. Topics covered will include: Africa in the Sixteenth Century, the development of transatlantic slave trade, African Americans and the American Revolution, Slavery and Freedom in the Early Republic, African American life in the Antebellum South, the Civil War, and Black life during Reconstruction.
