BUS 244 - HR and Leadership: Motivating People and Performance Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course introduces key Human Resources concepts and practices tailored to the unique needs and challenges of small business owners and new leaders. Effective HR management is essential for fostering employee engagement; driving performance, productivity, and profitability; and ensuring legal compliance.Throughout the course students will explore fundamental HR functions including: recruitment and hiring; employee engagement and relations; training and development; benefits administration and HR technology; and compliance, Emphasis will be placed on practical strategies and techniques for small business owners with limited resources and new leaders with limited experience. Prerequisite(s): BUS 102
