BHS 262 - Juvenile Delinquency Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Designed to introduce students to the development of juvenile delinquency in American Society. This course emphasizes the ways in which society structures juvenile delinquency as a social phenomenon. The course presents various theories to explain both the causes of juvenile delinquency, as well as society’s response to youth offenders, and examines programs, interventions and punishments that attempt to change juvenile behavior. Prerequisite(s): BHS 103 or permission of the department
