BHS 201 - Contemporary Problems and Issues in Substance Abuse Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 This course surveys significant problems and issues germane to the field of substance abuse. Attention will be given to cause-effect relationships, family issues, grief and loss, policy and the law and evolving trends and attitudes. Recent research will be examined with consideration of implications for prevention and control. Prerequisite(s): BHS 242 or permission of the department
